“I think you’ve got something great on your hands. I can’t think of a $600 mic that sounds anywhere near this good.” – Greg Wells (Grammy winning producer, Adele, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Twenty One Pilots, etc.)
Vintage sound in a modern package, designed and hand built by an audio engineer. The f-48 is a microphone that has everything you want in a high end studio microphone, with an affordable price.
The f-48 is a large diaphragm fet condenser microphone. The capsule is a k-47 type, the same type found in the famous u47 fet microphone. It has a very smooth top end, with a mid forward sound. Very pleasing on all kinds of sources, and especially vocals. Always full and never harsh.
Watch the f-48 win a mic shootout against several very high regarded mics with Grammy winning record producer Jacquire King: Universal Audio livestream
“The proof is in the pudding, as it beat out all these other mics” – Jacquire King (Grammy winning record producer, Kings of Leon, James Bay, etc.)
Only the best components are used, with resistors hand matched for the best performance. This microphone features an amplification circuit with a FET transistor, manually biased for best sound. Inspired by a vintage Neumann circuit, this design generates a defined and crisp sound without hyped high end. In audio, often simple circuits and designs work well. This mic is very reminiscent of a u47 fet, but has fewer parts so it has a slightly warmer sound with more harmonics. It also has very low self noise. The mic features a 7:1 output transformer, for extra smooth tones, a flattering transient response and mojo. An internal switch allows for both cardioid and omni pattern operation. F-48 comes in a protective hardcase, with shock mount. The body has a powder coat finish, built to last, with laser engraved logo.
The microphones are hand built in small batches. They are priced at 539 euros, excl. shipping and VAT when applicable.
You can return anything within 14 days of receipt. Please see the faq for more info.

Believe the hype – this mix sound amazing! Simply testing the mic out – the depth and detail was immediately apparent, very transparent sound with some very nice, yet tastefully subtle, character to it… I’m in love 👌

This mic is freaking awesome. Rich, full, textured and smooth at the same time, everything I ever wanted in a large diaphragm.

It‘s an excellent mic with a very smooth but still forward sound. It’s exceptionally well built and feels really high quality. It works on a lot of sources, I use it mainly on lead vocals and acoustic guitar. For that price it’s an absolute no brainer, but it also holds its own compared to much higher priced mics, I highly recommend it!

Great! Easy to order, and shipped superfast. And the mic itself is fabulous, very versatile. Thanks!

I’ve been recording vocals for an album with this microphone – owned by my producer – and have been so thrilled with the results that I’ve had to buy one too. I can’t give you any technical insights, as I’m a singer rather than an experienced engineer, however I’m a baritone who is not averse to using falsetto, and this mic suits my voice. Job done.

Ordering, packaging and shipping to the US was very efficient and fast. I purchased the f-48 primarily to record my singing in various home studio projects. My voice is edgy at about 4K and, historically, I’ve struggled with some harshness in my recordings with lower quality microphones. The f-48 has solved this problem. I haven’t put it through the paces yet with recording other instruments. However, for vocals, I have not been disappointed! Great product and, it appears, very well made.
